Report on the timetable for consideration of the Local Government
(Democracy) (Wales) Bill
1. On 26 November 2012, a Government Bill, ‘Local Government (Democracy) (Wales) Bill’, was introduced in the Assembly.
2. On 13 November 2012, the Business Committee agreed, in accordance with Standing Order 26.9, to refer the Bill to the Communities, Equality and Local Government Committee, to consider and report on the general principles.
3. In accordance with Standing Order 26.7, the Business Committee established a timetable for the Committee’s consideration of the general principles of the Bill and has agreed that the Committee should report to the Assembly by 8 March 2013.
4. The
Business Committee also agreed that Stage 2 proceedings should be
completed by 3 May 2013, subject to the general principles of the
Bill being agreed by the Assembly.
